How do Muscle Relaxing Injections Work?

When the muscles contract in frowning, smiling, squinting they cause creasing of the overlying skin on the face. Over time continual repetitive movements cause these creases to become deeper and eventually become permanent fixtures on the face as fine lines and wrinkles. Muscle relaxing injections are tiny painless injections just under the skin which are used to weaken facial muscles thereby softening lines and wrinkles.

The Procedure

Around 15 Mins - The procedure takes about 15minutes, during which the practitioner will ask you to pull some facial expressions in order to understand your muscles.

From 5-10 Days - Over the next 5-10 days, you will begin to see the effect of your treatment.

Up to 1 Month - Client’s of The Cosmetic Clinic UK are followed up.

Up to 4-5 Months - Treatment on average lasts about 4-5 months depending on your muscle strength.

Who it isn’t suitable for:

• Those who are pregnant or breast feeding
• Individuals with an allergy to eggs
• Individuals with a diagnosis of :
•    Eaton Lambert Syndrome
•    Myasthenia Gravis
•    Peripheral Motor Neuropathic Disease

Possible Side Effects:

Like all medicines muscle relaxing injections can have side effects. In general adverse effects can occur within the first few days following injections and are generally temporary. These include:

• Headaches
• Slight discomfort
• Skin redness
• Bruising
• Drooping eye lid
